Comparative Study On Chinese International Engineering Corporations' Performance Of Corporate Social Responsibility

Chinese international engineering corporations have seen rapid growth under the guidance of “going global” national strategy,with expansion of the scale and over 23%of compound growth rate on contracted value and turnover recently signed during the past ten years,have occupied significant position in the international engineering contracting market.Meanwhile,the constant negative reports on safety &quality,environmental protection,employee's right of international engineering projects implemented by the Chinese corporations are the main obstacles for them to achieve healthy development in their traditional market,and also the main constraint on their expansion to developed countries and transition to high level investment and financing projects.The key reason is the social responsibility level of those corporations is no longer satisfactory to the market need to sustain and ensure the engineering services provided.Therefore,the key to solve the above-mentioned questions and achieve sustainable development of Chinese international corporations is to enlarge their social responsibility capabilities to satisfy the market need.In this context,the research on the status quo on social responsibilities of the Chinese international engineering corporations and on the measures to upgrade its capabilities of social responsibilities fulfillment is realistic,and supplementary and facilitating to research and develop the theory of social responsibilities for Chinese corporations.In consideration of this,the thesis will be focused on the Chinese international corporations,tackling the realistic issues existed through comparison,research and inquiry method to upgrade its social responsibility level.The thesis starts with the theoretical point of view on Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR),analyzing its working status-quo and cause of formation,proposing ideas on how to improve CSR.Then,based on the comparative analysis of the domestic and international standards of CSR,making comparative study on rights and wrongs of corporate practices using case analysis,proposing measures and method of improvement on strengthening the performance of CSR.At last,conclusion will be made on the whole study to propose measures to upgrade CSR of Chinese international engineering corporations both on government and trade association level,as well as on corporate own level.
