A company is France Company which is a world fortune 500 hundred company. The ma-jor product is the break that applies in family and industry. My company is the R&D central we design the part then look for the tool supplier to design and manufacture the tool and pro-duce the part at the supplier site. Finally, we assemble the products at A company's plant.As we know, the tool is the mother of industry. The products are high precision, high con-sistency and high productivity which made by high quality mould. Normally, the high quality tools are made by high quality supplier with high cost. There is a great amount of tool invest-ment at the beginning of the project and it has a large influence on return and profit of the pro-ject investment. Therefore, how to control the cost of tool investment is significant problem which need to be solved by relevant company.At the beginning, the thesis describes the research background, purpose and meaning meanwhile, put forward the research methods and content framework. Secondly, this thesis introduces the problem during the tool purchase job. Firstly, the problems result from the un-reasonable of part structure design. Secondly, purchase department lead the tool purchase job without technical sector support. Third, missing the tool standard of A company. Last but not least, tool suppliers are not well control the tool manufacturing cost internally.According to the problems, this article proposed the concrete improvement measures. First of all, adopt the engineer and mold supplier early intervention to improve product design, by optimizing the mold design and reducing the difficulty of fabrication to reduce the tool pur-chase cost. Secondly, cross-functional procurement group was established, technical experts joined the purchasing group to provide strong technical support and participate in the supplier selection and price negotiation; Next, tooling expert formulate the concrete mold standard. Finally cultivation and help supplier to achieve the benign competition between suppliers and help the supplier control mold manufacturing costs, achieve the win-win way between enter-prises and suppliers.
