The Study On Supplier Management For JM Company Based On Global Sourcing

With the integration for global economy, the competitions between enterprises have developed from regional to global scale. Owning more competitive supply chain with minimum total cost is one of the core competitiveness of companies. With increasingly fierce competition, automobile exhaust catalyst industry has left from the high profits of the environmental protection industry. While, it enters an era of competitive advantage for cost and supply chain. In order to carry out the global sourcing strategy developing in the global scope, supplier selection and evaluation is an effective way for enterprises to gain the core competitiveness.Through the study on supplier management for JM Company based on Global Sourcing, the author reviews the current situation for supplier management and finds that there are problems on high raw material cost, long lead time and low on-time delivery rate in JM. By analyzing, the reasons behind the problems are unreasonable existing global procurement organization, unworkable supplier selection and evaluation system, and poor supplier relation management. Based on these causes, the author proposes a solution on establishing a reasonable and efficient organization for global sourcing, a global supplier selection and evaluation system, and key supplier partner relationship management strategy. It also has a strong practical significance for the similar enterprises in automobile exhaust catalyst industry to strengthen the supplier management and enhance the competitive power in global sourcing.
