Third Party Logistics Service's Improvements Study Of EI Company

With the development of the global industrial chain, the division of labor is deepening in China. This makes growth of member companies on supply chain and also brings cluster effect in this region. EI, is one of global leading companies in 3PL industry, aim to promote logistics service and raise market shares in China.In this thesis, it mainly adopts method with combination of theoretical and empirical to make analysis. For theoretical aspects, its basis is profound influence of logistics management merged with the supply chain theory. Using the literature analysis and induction method, it is to find theory content about logistics outsourcing & logistics planning, which is related to 3PL. Above theory and method is all preparatory work for improving on EI's logistics services.For empirical aspects, it describes for El, as a practical case, how to process logistics service improvements. In first part, it introduces current situation of El with SWOT analysis. After that, it put forward two problem of service level and cost, which is under viewpoint of 3PL companies' operating, then point out the main factor and make analysis. Wherein the part of data analysis, it quotes the relevant financial statistical sample and uses DEA module to get conclusion. Meanwhile, it provides content of company's strategic decision for three tiers in terms of suggestion on improvements planning. As the way to process improvements, it put emphasis on operational countermeasures and solutions, which include management upgrading; logistics capability; resource utilization; expanding value-added services; market target and several aspects with detailed discussion.In the end of thesis, it demonstrates the contribution of improvements by a specific logistics project of El. Standing on 3PL industry's current circumstances, which is facing fierce competition and the challenge of the new commercial mode, these improvements of logistics service has practical significance for El to improve performance and competitiveness. As the important part of logistics market,3PL need undertake not only the mission of promoting the development of logistics innovation, but also the mission of assisting the industrial entities to create more surplus value of supply chain. Writer hopes this thesis can bring some reference value to our national logistics industry & relevant area by further exploring above mentioned problems.
