| 5S site management,originated in Japan,refers to effective management methodology about employees,machinery,materials,and methods.As a typical popular management methodology in Japanese companies,it consists of Seiri,Seiton,Seiso,Seiketsu and Shitsuke,all of which are Japanese terms,which means Sorting,Systematic arrangement,Cleaning,Standardization and Sustainability.Advocated by Toyota Motor Corporation,5S site management methodology has won a large amount of supporters and numerous successful experiences.Better company images,less cost,in-time delivery,safer standardized production processes that was brought by the application of 5S management has played its role in a bulk of companies.At the same time,it also provides pleasant workplace for employees.At present,5S has become trendy management methodology in many factories,which has been widely applied in manufacture and service industries for the sake of the improvement of workplace and the thinking methods of employees towards the working environment.In the meantime,as an important part of site management,5S is capable of laying solid foundation of total productive maintenance(TPM)and total quality management(TQM),which is also of great important of the implementation of ISO9000.As for manufacturing enterprises,site management is so important that both abroad and domestic enterprises are trying to figure out suitable management methodologies on the basis of their own characteristics.Greatly famous as 5S,there are also some problems showed up in the process.W company put forward 5S management program at the beginning,yet according to the group survey conducted by professional managers,first 5S program was basically a failure.In W company,the contradiction between philosophy of superior leaders and implementation of frontline workers,as well as the specific implementation and key points of 5S program have been in the way of the in-depth implementation of 5S management program.Therefore,based on the experience the thesis puts forward corresponding new program of 5S implementation.Started from improving the management mechanism,the criteria,assessment plans and sustainable development of 5S management implementation will be presented.Empirical analysis method will be utilized to explore the in-depth reasons why first 5S program failed.In addition,based on the reason analysis and current status of W company,an updated solution program will be demonstrated with the help of PDCA cycle,which consists of plan-do-check-improvement.Hope this thesis will be helpful for other companies in their management. |
