For the study of seismic acquisition methods in desert area of Tarim Basin, in view of the difficulties such as vertical and horizontal changes in surface layer, thin and small scope of m ain target layers (Carboniferous and Silurian) with large buried depth, seismic exploration res earches, experiments and practice were performed at different types of surfaces with different shooting and receiving conditions. A set of seismic acquisition technologies suitable for deser t area in Tarim Basin was summarized. The technologies include drilling of ultra deep wells, d evices and methods of geophones'burying, data quantitative analysis, shooting and receiving techniques, geometry optimization techniques, and quality control techniques.The study covered scouting, geometry design, surface layers investigation, shooting, rece iving, on site processing, quality evaluation. The technologies can be widely used in Tarim Ba sin Desert and other similar areas and have great significance for the improvement of seismic data quality in desert. Were used in seismic acquisition, the technologies solved many difficult ies of desert seismic acquisition, get some technical achievements:including corner line opti mization technology, and shooting/receiving conditions optimization technologies. The quanti ty analysis of quality index provided a scientific way for the optimization of acquisition para meters, quality control and evaluation. The geometry design technologies of demonstration, te st verification and local geometry changes improved the rigorous and meticulous of geometry design. Referring the "flying simulation scouting", to provide scientific data for the local geo metry changes and difficulty prediction of seismic work. By using this local geometry change s technology, improved the data quality and imaging effect in special area, increased work effi ciency and reduced the difficulties of seismic work. Using refraction hole log, to improve the i nterpretation accuracy, technologies of hole depth precise design was formed. The technologie s include:producing with testing, combining area points and verifying points, shooting experi ment at different types and levels, and hole depth design from points to sections, and sections to lines.By researching and applying of these technologies, the acquisition efficiency was improv ed, the cost was saved, the high quality seismic data was acquired.
