Herbert Marcuse's critical theory of technical rationality,based on paying attention to social reality,made a fierce criticism on the economic,political,ideological and cultural fields under the rule of technical rationality,and put forward a road of social reform,but he did not find the real revolutionary force needed.He hopes to send a few intellectuals revolution and technical aesthetic way to achieve the full liberation of people,this utopian way is doomed to be impossible to achieve.We should use the Marxist method to analyze the problem,to see the problem with a dialectical perspective.Marcuse's critique of technical rationality and the proposal of one-way view have important guiding significance for the development of modern society,but at the same time,he should also see that his use of sensibility and art as the solution to the problem of modernity have some limitations.This article is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction.It mainly expounds the reasons for choosing the thesis,combs the research status of Marcuse's technology rationality critical theory both at home and abroad,and discusses the basic framework of the thesis.The second part expounds the background of Marcuse's critique of technological rationality,mainly from two aspects of the time background and theoretical sources,and makes a deeper understanding of Marcuse's critique of technological rationality.The third part discusses the content of Marcuse's critical theory of technological rationality,which is the main part of the article.through the dissimilation of technological rationality and Marcuse's exploration of the path of liberation,the main content of Marcuse's critical theory of technological rationality is sorted out.The fourth part is to analyze the positive significance of his theory.The fifth part discusses the limitations of Marcuse's critical theory of technological rationality.
