With the increasing depletion of onshore oil resources, offshore oil field especially deepwater oil field has become the development focus in the world. Subsea production system development model,with its remarkable advantages and considerable economic benefits, has become the preferred solution for deepwater oil field. Since the installation, recovery and maintenance of subsea production systems is expensive, it requires a series of rigorous tests, including shallow water test. The shallow water test is difficult to provide conditions similar to the actual control system and testing environment, unable to accurately verify system performance, so we verify system performance with the help of simulation. The commonly used simulation software in subsea production system, such as SimulationX software, is difficult to meet the demand of work in shallow water test field. In this paper, SimulationX was developed secondly by VC for the subsea hydraulic control system to support the shallow water test.This paper investigates the present situation of the shallow test, depending on the composition, structure and function of the subsea hydraulic control system, carrying out shallow testing methods research, confirming shallow water test content, principles and testing processes of the subsea hydraulic system, and proposing special shallow test simulation software functional requirements. By analyzing the SimulationX software features, this paper made the second development by VC. Taking advantage of SimulationX to build three shallow test simulation models, analyze and set the parameters of the model constants and variables, achieve the C code output to get the executable parameters and the corresponding file. The software simulation module, sensor acquisition module, comparison module and results analysis module was established in VC software, and achieving parameters input, program execution, simulation and sensor data comparison functions. It's carried out simulation and experimental verification with literature and experiments.The developed simulation software can be applied in the absence of SimulationX software environment, it also has such characteristics as simple operation, the low degree of specialization of operators, little repetitive work and so on.
