a-pinene is an important chemical material mainly existing in turpentine, which is separated from the secretions of pine, a-pinene is an important material for synthetic fragrances, synthetic lubricants, plasticizers, terpene resins and the like,a-pinene turpentine contains a lot of impurities.they have the same molecular weight, similar molecular structure, similar physical and chemical properties with a-pinene. Therefore, there is great difficulty in a-pinene separation and purification from turpentine. Content of this research are as follows:1) Vapor pressure data of a-pinene and ?-pinene at 0-200mbar were measured, and Antoine equations of a-pinene and (3-pinene at 300-380K were fitted respectively. The equations are more reliable compared with literature data. And the values of average molar vaporization heat of a-pinene and ?-pinene at 300-380K were estimated by vapor pressure data and Clapeyron equation. The studies provide important basic data for the separation and purification of a-pinene and related design of chemical process.2) VLE data of a-pinene and ?-pinene at different pressure were forecasted by Aspen Plus firstly. Compared with the literature data, they have a high degree of agreement. Then VLE data of a-pinene and ?-pinene at 10kPa and 1kPa were measured. Compared with the predicted data, they have a high degree of agreement also. And its thermodynamic consistency test was completed.VLE data of a-pinene and ?-pinene at 101.3kPa?80kPa?53.3kPa were compared with the VLE data at 10kPa and 1 kPa to analyze the impact of different pressure on VLE of a-pinene and P-pinene. According to this study lOkPa was chosen as the appropriate pressure in batch distillation.3) Separation and purification of a-pinene at lOkPa by vacuum batch distillation was studied. The optimum operating conditions with the constant reflux ratio had found including total reflux time, reflux ratio and tower bottom temperature on the batch distillation. Separating and purifying a-pinene with variable reflux ratio at lOkPa was investigated, Under variable reflux ratio content of a-pinene could be incieased to over 93.6% from 84.54% after one short distillation. At the same time, the yield was over 50%.Compared with the traditional crafts, the process reduced equipment requirements and reduced heat loss.4) The batch distillation was imitated by the Block Batchsep of Aspen Plus. The simulation results with constant reflux at lOkPa were set at different tower kettle concentrations and reflux ratio.
