Turpentine is one kind of very valuable and renewable natural resouce. It is produced largely in China, especially for gum turpentine. There is abundant ofα-pinene in gum turpentine and it could be used to prepare cis-pinane through catalytic hydrogenation. cis-Pinane is a very important intermediate in terpene industry, especially for linalool and dihydromyrcene synthesis. There is some distance between China and the developed countries. So it is very significative to do some research in catalytic hydrogenation ofα-pinene.In this paper, high pure cis-pinane was prepared in some reactive condition by hydrogenation ofα-pinene with nano-sized nickel catalyst. A suitable condition was confirmed through the study of hydrogenation in different reactions, such as reaction temperature, reaction pressure, the dosage of catalyst and reaction time. The life of catalyst was also studied. Nano-sized nickel catalyst was compared with Raney-Ni and Pd/C in conversion of pinene and reaction selectivity of cis-pinane. Because of excellent character of the import catalyst in hydrogenation reaction, the preparation of nano-sized nickel catalyst was also studied and compared with the import one by some detective methodes. The main research methodes and results are as bellow:1. cis-Pinane was prepared by hydrogenation ofα-pinene under the import nano-sized Nickel catalyst. The influence of reaction time, reaction pressure, reaction teperature and the dosage of catalyst were studied. And the suitable condition in hydrogenation was confirmed as follows: the temperature and pressure was 90℃and 4.0 MPa respectively. The dosage of catalyst compared withα-pinene was 1.0 %. In such an condition, the conversion ofα-pinene was 99.95 % and the selectivity was approximately 94.3%.2. In the condition refered above, the import catalst was used 6 times. It was found that, the reaction conversion and selectivity went down in a little scale. The final conversion of pinene reduced to 99.62 % and the final selectivity reduced to...
