With the widespread implementation of fracturing in oil and gas exploration in the process, the need for fracturing equipment and the demand for its properties is increasing. How to improve the performance of fracturing equipment, is one of the urgent problem to be solved. The performance of fracturing pump directly determines the merits of fracturing device. For researching high-performance fracturing pump, traditional physical experiment is time-consuming and difficult to modify the parameters. General theoretical analysis, considering many non-linear aspects in fluid end pump, is complex in processing and the results may be different with actual results. In recent years, the rapid development of virtual prototyping technology provides effective tools for more accurate simulation of fracturing pump which is a complex system.In this paper, a new type of fracturing pump is studied with the application of virtual prototyping technology. The research mainly concentrates on the following aspects:(1) By inspecting, retrieving literature home and abroad and surveying in oilfield and machinery factory, combined with the demand for the technology of construction of oil field fracturing and acidizing equipment, shortcomings of existing products is identified and the further development is directed.(2) Conducting a theoretical study of fracturing pump. The movement of the pressure side of the pump power, pump valve and the impact between volumetric efficiency and lag are analyzed.the theoretical analysis and formula derivation lays the theoretical foundation for co-simulation.(3) Key components of fracturing pump is analyzed by using the finite element analysis software for crankshaft, connecting rod, crankshaft box and the pump head body, pointing out the easily damaged parts, proposing appropriate measures for improvement.(4) Fracturing pump power end model is established in ADAMS, as well as a hydraulic model in AMESim. Through co-simulation between two models, the pump plunger motion, the suction and discharge valves motion is analyzed. By changing the valve's quality, spring stiffness and pump speed, the influence on pump performance is researched.(5) In accordance with the relevant national standards, the fracturing pump bench test program is designed combined with research of fracturing pump fluid end the actual working conditions. Valve motion sensors are designed and other equipments needed are chosed which are fully prepared for the next experiment.The establishment of virtual prototyping for new fracturing pump is important for research and analysis of fracturing pump performance. In summary, the research work provides a theoretical basis to improve the fracturing pump performance, with a wide range of application. It will further enhance the level of design technology, and promote the development of fracturing technology.
