The 30CrMnSiNi2A steel is a kind of low-alloyed and ultra-strength steel which is used extensively in many fields.The effects of hardness on the dynamic behavior and damage evolution of 30CrMnSiNi2A steel were studied in this paper.The contents of this paper are as follows:(1)Microstructures of 30CrMnSiNi2A steel of different hardnessThe microstructures of 30CrMnSiNi2A steel of different hardness were characterized by using Optical Microscope(OM).The differences between the microstructures were analyzed.(2)Quasi-static and dynamic compression tests on 30CrMnSiNi2A steel of different hardnessThe stress-strain curves of 30CrMnSiNi2A steel of different hardness were obtained by conducting quasi-static and dynamic compression experiments.The yield strengths of the steel at different strain rates were obtained from the experiments.The effects of hardness on the yield strength and strain rate sensitivity were discussed in detail.(3)Quasi-static tensile tests on different hardness 30CrMnSiNi2A steelIn order to study the effect of stress state on the deformation and failure strain of 3 0CrMnSiNi2A steel,tensile tests on notched specimens were carried out by using a material testing machine.Additionally,the tensile tests at different stain rates were conducted to study the relation between failure strains and stain rates.The different fracture modes of different specimens were discussed.(4)Studies on dynamic behavior and damage evolution of 30CrMnSiNi2A steel of different hardness.The parameters of 30CrMnSiNi2A steel in Johnson-Cook constitutive model were determined based on the results of the quasi-static and dynamic compression experimental results.Additionally,the parameters of Johnson-Cook fracture model were obtained from the tensile tests of notched specimens and the tensile tests at different strain rates.The effects of hardness on the parameters and the fracture modes of 30CrMnSiNi2A steel of different hardness were analyzed.(5)Validation of the parameters of Johnson-Cook constitutive model and parameters of Johnson-Cook fracture modelThe parameters of Johnson-Cook constitutive model and parameters of Johnson-Cook fracture model were validated by comparison between the Taylor impact experiments and simulations.The deformation and fracture modes of 30CrMnSiNi2A steel of different hardness were analyzed.
