In recent years, composite materials are widely used in various fields, such as aircraft engine blades, military equipment(such as bullet-proof vests,bullet-proof armor, etc.),vehicles, other means of transport(such as the framework and shell of the car, etc.),ship hull and sonar enclosures. In these applications,to ensure the safety and reliability, the impact properties of composite materials are particularly important.Composite materials as impact materials,it has been widen the application to promote the dynamic mechanical properties of composite materials because of the better impact properties than traditional metal. However, the composites also have limitation in the development because of its fatal flaws.Especially for the application of a wide range of resin-based composites, small objects can cause impact indentation, delamination, caving and perforation damage in the part of materials.Even after repeated impact, the composite structure of the compression performance will be reduced by less than half.At present, the repeated impact properties of composites and post-impact compressive properties are mainly for laminates. To improve the anti-recurrent impact property of the fabric reinforced composite material,in this paper, the repeated impact properties of fabric-reinforced composites were studied, and an elastic protective layer-rubber layer was introduced to co-cure the fabrics. In this paper, the fabric structure of the reinforcements in the composite material is 2.5D angle interlock structure.According to the density of the warp yan,the density of the weft yarn, the density of the connected warp yarns and the design of the fiber types, four kinds of fabric structures were finally confirmed. Then the fabric reinforced composites and rubber co-cured composite materials was been fabricated. For the fabric-reinforced composites with different fabric structures, the basic mechanical(tensile, bending, compressing and shearing)properties of the composites were tested, and the influence of different parameters on the mechanical properties was studied. Then, the four kinds of fabric-reinforced with rubber co-cured composites were subjected to repeated low-speed impact using the drop-weight impact test machine. The effects of the rubber protective layer on the repeated impact resistance of the fabric reinforced composites and the different response principles of the impact of different fabric structures were analyzed by means of the impact response, the damage area of the ultrasonic C scan after the impact and the damage appearance of the specimen. Finally, the post-impact compressive test of the fabric-reinforced with the rubber co-cured composite was carried out to study the effect of the rubber protective layer and different fabric structures on the residual compressive strength and the post-impact compressive failure mode of the fabric reinforced composites and damage mechanism. The effects of rubber protective layer and different fabric structures on residual compressive strength and the failure mode and damage mechanism of the compression of the fabric-reinforced composite under different damage were studied.
