The long-term water flooding is aggravating reservoir heterogeneity and layer contradiction in the late period of oilfield development.The formation of the prepond-erance flow path between oil wells and water wells causes short circuit of water flood-ing which seriously affects the effect of water flooding development.Therefore,the description of area,volume,pore radius of preponderance flow path in water flooding reservoir provide an important basis or services for oil field making scientific pro-duction measures.The paper puts forward calculation methods of location distribution,pore size distribution,lateral heterogeneity and pore volume of preponderance flow path in the vertical and horizontal wells respectively.According to the size of the aperture,pore size classified as very large pores,large pores,medium pores,small pores.And the paper coded software on the basis of calculation methods.Consider three well groups in a block of Yumen Oilfield as an example,the program process the data which is the original data analyzed of the oil field.The pore distribution dia-gram of all levels of pore distribution and the whole block and data table of the pore volume and related parameters was obtained by the program.The three well groups needed to inject 855.86 cubic meters of the first level of slug,2066.23 cubic meters of the second level of slug and 4936.48 cubic meters of the third level of slug based on the data table.Moreover,plugging parameters,for example injection rate,injec-tion time and flow viscosity,was calculated.In the paper,the program can calculate the area and volume of preponderance flow path in the reservoir efficiently,especially the identification and description about the preponderance flow path in horizontal wells.The results according to the program can optimize plugging scheme,improve the success rate of water plugging,and ultimately achieve the purpose of improving recovery factor.
