With the rapid development of industry,the application of biomaterials in many fields such as materials medicine,biology,mechanics and engineering shows the bright future for people.Keratin is a natural protein biomaterial with biodegradability,biocompatibility and physical properties.It is widely used in the functional finishing of textiles,regenerative keratin polymers,biomedical and functional films.Keratin/polyester nanofiber membranes were prepared by electrospinning.The hydrophilicity of keratin and its adsorption to heavy metals as well as the large specific surface area and high porosity of the nanofiber membrane make the membrane have a good application prospect in the field of sewage treatment and capacitors.In this paper,the polyethylene terephthalate and keratin extracted from wool were used as raw materials to prepare keratin/polyester composite film by electrospinning method,and the spinning conditions were changed to obtain the preparation process of keratin/polyester film.By testing different proportions of fiber membranes,the performance of keratin/polyester fiber membranes was investigated.The keratin/polyester fiber membrane possesses the excellent properties of hydrophilicity,adsorbability,high specific surface area and large porosity.The prepared fiber membrane is applied to wastewater treatment-chromium ion adsorption and capacitor membrane by utilizing these properties.The adsorption mechanism of keratin/polyester membrane and the electrochemical performance of keratin/polyester membrane were discussed.The results show that the keratin/polyester film has the characteristic peaks of keratin and polyester functional groups.The hydroxyl peak in the hydrophilic group is mainly related to the keratin in the fiber membrane,and the higher the percentage of keratin in the fiber membrane,the better the hydrophilicity of the fiber membrane.Keratin and polyester blend not only improve the hydrophilicity of the membrane,but also improve the mechanical properties of the membrane to a certain extent.Based on the chromogenic principle of chromium ion and diphenyl semicarbazide,the influence of different adsorption conditions on the adsorption of chromium ion on fiber membrane was studied.The adsorption mechanism of keratin/polyester fiber membrane was explored by analyzing the FTIR and XPS of the fibrous membrane before and after adsorption.The adsorption ability of the membrane to chromium ions is mainly related to the functional groups contained in keratin.In order to improve the mechanical properties and thermal stability of the fiber membrane,the keratin/polyester fiber membrane is subjected to hot pressing.Using the hot-pressed keratin/polyester fiber membrane as a membrane assembly capacitor,the keratin/polyester fiber membrane has excellent hydrophilicity and high voidage compared with the conventional separator and the polyester film,which is contribute to the transfer of ions in the electrolyte,making the keratin/polyester membrane capacitors have more electrochemical properties than conventional membrane capacitors.
