In this article,we designed and synthesized a bidentate ligand with two1,2,4-triazole functional groups from the perspective of coordination chemistry:4,4'-bis?4H-1,2,4-Triazol-4-yl?-1,1'-biphenyl?L?,and different transition metal salts were selected to constructed metal organic complexes.Seven novel metal organic complexes were synthesized by hydrothermal or solvothermal methods,namely,{[CuICuII?L?(1,2,4,5-betc2-)0.5]?CN??H2O}n?1?,{[Cu3?L??CN?3]}n?2?,{[Cd4?L?2?H2O?]n?3?,{[Cd3?L?(1,2,4-betc3-)?H2O?4]??H2O?}n?4?,{[Zn?L?(1,3,5-btc3-)?H2O?]}n?5?,{[Zn2?L?(1,2,4-btc4-)2?5H2O]}n?6?,{[Zn?L?(1,2,4,5-betc4-?H2O?]}n?7?.In order to verify the structure and composition of these complexes, the structures of the complexes were then characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis, powder X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy and elemental analysis. For complexes 1 and 2,they were all synthesized from copper nitrate and ligand L.Differentfromcomplex2,inthesynthesisprocessofcomplex1,1,2,4,5-benzenetetracarboxylic acid was added as auxiliary ligand.Complexes 3 and 4are complexes composed of cadmium salt and ligand L.Complex 3 uses cadmium nitrate as the metal salt, and the co-ligand is 1,2,4,5-benzenetetracarboxylic acid,Complex 4 use cadmium acetate as the metal salt and the co-ligand is1,2,4-benzenetricarboxylic acid, during the synthesis process of complex 4,a small amount of imidazole was added as a template agent in order to obtain single crystals that could be tested by apparatus. The complexes 5,6,7 are all synthesized from zinc salts, ligands L and polycarboxylic acid as co-ligands,complexes 5 and 6 use zinc nitrates as metal salts, and complexes 7 use zinc acetate. The co-ligands of complexes 5,6 and 7 are 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid,1,2,4-benzenetricarboxylic acid and1,2,4,5-benzenetetracarboxylic acid, respectively. For complex 1,the central metal atom links ligands and co-ligands to form a two-dimensional layered structure, while for complex 2,the central metal atom links ligands to form a two-dimensional lattice structure.Complexes 3 and 4 are new topological structures of three-dimensional grid, complex 3 is a?4,6?-connected{44·62}{48·67}topology,and complex 4 is?3,4,5?-connected{4·52·6·7·8}{4·52·62·73·82}{5·6·7}topological structure.Due to the different types of central metals and co-ligands,the structures of the seven metal organic complexes are various, leading to different properties. In the study of the nitrobenzene recognition,we found that complex 2 can recognize trinitrotoluene well, while complex 1,which also uses metal copper as the center atom, does not possess this property. In the study of the iron ion recognition, the complex 4 showed excellent performance. It was found that the complex 4 can well recognize the iron ions in the mixture of cation ion solution. In the study of the photodegradation of methyl blue dyes,it was found that the complexes 3-7 all promote the degradation of the dye methyl blue in a certain extent.Contrasting the relationship between the structure of complexes and the catalytic effects,we speculated that the size of the porosity may be a key factor affecting the photodegradation of its methyl blue dye.
