Steel cord conveyor belt with high tensile strength and long life is widely used in coal,mining,ports,electricity,metallurgy,chemical and other fields.The joint area is the lowest tensile strength and the weakest link in the whole steel cord conveyor belt,the rope tangle failure is often occurred.Wire rope tangle failure leads to reducing strength of wire rope joints,it is the root causes of broken belt;no matter what the cause of wire rope tangle failure or break will inevitably show the joint deformation and the phenomenon of the first part of the rope twitching.The purpose of this dissertation is to experiment and analyze the deformatio,and strength of the steel cord conveyor joint.The main research work is as follows:1.We analyze the process of rope tiglitening and joint deformation,and we summary the main factors that affect the strength of the joint,which provides a theoretical basis for the analysis of the mechanical properties of wire rope tipping and joint deformation.2.We set up a tensile experimental platform that can capture experimental key data and collect sample images about changing state in real time.According to the requirments of the national standard,we design and make different wire rope that is different lengths of the test section or the number of different force wire rope or different lap forms(arrangement and spacing)of joint samples,which provide the basis for research and conditions.3.We carry out and analyze the single rope tightening experiment.And we obtain the key data such as deformation state image,tensile force-elongation curve and tensile limit of single wire rope.We analyze the meehanical characteristics and evolution process of single wire rope tangential.We study the variation and relationship between tows deformation and strength of wire ropes with different bonding lengths and different interval.Experiments show that the wire rope firstly debond from the force end of the joint.So we need to monitored mainly it.Increasing the bonding length can effectively improve the strength of the joint and increasing the spacing between adjacent wire rope has no effect on improving the bonding strength of the steel wire rope.The tensile force and the number of cycles expressed as exponential function.4.We carry out and analyze the several experiments on rope tightening and analysis.And we obtain the key data such as deformation state image,tensile,foree-elongation curve and tensile limit of multiple steel wire ropes.We analyze the mechanical characteristics and evolution process of single wire rope tangential of the multi-rope.We study the effect of connection length of rope,root number and connection type on the deformation and strength of the joint.At the same time,We summary the relationship between the deformation and the strength of the joint.The experimental results show that there are similar rules in different stages of wire rope tightening and joint deformation.Appropriately increasing the number of adjacent steel wire ropes in the same direction is beneficial to improve the overall joint strength.Increasing the joint length and the number of overlapped steel wire ropes can effectively improve the tensile strength of the joint.Increasing the spacing of ropes of adjacent and reverse force,which has no effect on improving the joint tensile strength,even it easily leads to rubber tear.The research results of this dissertation can provide the basis for the design and manufacture of steel cord conveyor joints,it also prolongs the service life of the steel cord conveyor belts and joints.It can be applied to the X-ray less steel cord conveyor belt non-destructive testing system.It also could prevent the occurrence of broken tape accidents.At the same time,it could avoid equipment damage,cut-off and casualties.Further,it can reduce the loss of transport materials,improve production efficiency and increase significant economic and social benefits.
