In the growth period in 2015-2016,the biodiversity of arthropod communities in the fields of transgenic maize and its counterpart lines were compared. The objective of this study was to assess the effects of transgenic glyphosate-tolerate(EPSPS)and insect-resistant(Bt Cry 1 Ab)maize DBN9936,transgenic glyphosate-tolerate(EPSPS)and Glufosinate Ammonium(pat)maize C0010.1.1 and DBN9868on biodiversity of arthropod communities, which supplied basic data for transgenic crop biosafety. In the isolated maize field, with the method of observation and traps, the number of species and individuals in the arthropod communities were counted and the functional groups, biodiversity index, dominance index, evenness index and the community similarity were analyzed and compared. The main results were:1.The number of lepidoptera insects, including corn borers and cotton bollworms, from the transgenic maize DBN9936 in the whole growth period was significantly lower than those from the counterpart DBN318 and the conventional line Xianyu335.The number of leaf beetles from the transgenic maize was similar with the recipient line DBN318,while significantly higher than that from conventional line Xianyu335.Compared with the non-transgenic recipient line maize DBN318 and the regular line Xianyu335,transgenic maize DBN9936 has the similar dynamic trend within the parameters of the number of species, biodiversity index, dominance index and evenness index, which had not significant difference.2.Compared with the non-transgenic recipient line maize 178 and the regular line Xianyu335,transgenic maize C0010.1.1 has the similar dynamic trend within the parameters of the number of species, biodiversity index, dominance index and evenness index, which were not significantly different.3.Compared with the non-transgenic recipient line maize DBN318 and the regular line Xianyu335,transgenic maize DBN9868 has the similar dynamic trend within the parameters of the number of species, biodiversity index, dominance index and evenness index, which had not significant difference.
