Purpose: Carried out a systematic review of Randomized controlled trials(RCT) or quasi randomized controlled trials(quasi-RCT) of electroacupuncture treatment of functional dyspepsia according to the method recommended by the Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews of Interventions.Material and method:Through searching the database, read the full text to choose the literature that conform with the accepting criteria and the exclusion criteria. Finally 9 studies were accepted, including 920 patients. But most of them are low quality. After analyzing the clinical heterogeneity and the methodological heterogeneity, the Cochrane Rev Man(Review Manager) 5 software was used for meta analysis of homogeneous literature.Results:1.There were statistical differences in NDSI,NDLQL,FDI,HAMA,CCK,Neuropeptide-Y and SF-36(VT,MH,SF,BP). 2. There were no statistical differences in SDS,SAS,SF-36(PF,RP,GH,RE). 3.Adverse reactions : There were no statistical differences between eletroacupuncture treatment and other treatments.Conclusion:1. The number of the accepted studies was limited.Their qualities were low. Those main outcome measures were separated from one another. The accepted studies were lack of authoritative and common outcomemeasures. The above factors did influence the review and led to regrettable conclusions that Electroacupuncture's curative effect was not exact yet, though the studies showed electroacupuncture ' s beneficial effects. And we could not draw a conclusion which was that electroacupuncture was a better treatment for functional dyspepsia. 2. Carrying on multicentric,high-quality RCT would be welcomed, then we could make the curative effect of electroacupuncture for functional dyspepsia clear and definite. And those RCT would help us to figure out if electroacupuncture has its own advantages as a treatment for functional dyspepsia.
