Ancient Literature Research On The Stable Phase Of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

Objective: Through the research on relevant ancient literature about COPD in stable period,explore the realization of ancient physicians about the disease name,causes,pathogenesis,syndrome,therapeutic methods,prescriptions and herbs for the purpose of providing a full ancient literature basis for the realization of COPD in stable period,systematically improving the understanding level of TCM on COPD in stable period..Methods: According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria which was setted by tutors and experts,query the ancient literature records of related diseases about COPD in stable period.According to the disease name,causes,pathogenesis,syndrome,therapeutic methods,prescriptions and herbs,choose and classify the ancient literature to establish the database.Use the statistical software SPSS 21.0 to analysis the data.Results: COPD in stable period can be belonged to TCM lung distension,gasp,cough,phlegm and retained fluid.Six excesses,seven emotions and diet harm are the major disease causes of COPD in stable period,the occurrence frequency of disease causes in the ancient literature is 31.3%,21.9% and 31.3% respectively.The disease position is in the lung,and related with many organs,closely related to the spleen and kidney,also related to stomach,heart and liver.The pathogenesis characteristic of COPD in stable period is essence-asthenia and appearance-sthenia,essence-asthenia is principal,and appearance-sthenia is secondary.Lung asthenia is principal,then is kidney and spleen asthenia.Qi asthenia is principal,then is yin and yang deficiency.The major appearance is phlegm,then is blood stasis,cold,heat,retained fluid,etc.The most common syndrome is the lung qi deficiency syndrome,lung yin deficiency syndrome,qi and yin deficiency syndrome,phlegm turbidity resistance lung syndrome,lung and kidney deficiency syndrome,the frequency is 13.3%,11.9%,10.0%,10.0%,9.5%respectively.The most commonly used treatment is benefiting lung qi,phlegm-cough-gasp antagonism,benefiting yin and nourishing lung,benefiting lung and kidney,benefiting yin and decreasing heat,frequency is 15.1%,13.7%,13.7%,10.0%,9.1% respectively.The therapeutic characteristic is given priority to strengthening health qi,and eliminating pathogens at the same time.Strengthen health qi in order to improve the patients’ resistance and reduce attack.Eliminate pathogens in order to improve symptoms and suffering.Analysis the herbs used by the 174prescriptions in the ancient literature,the major used herbs are phlegm-cough-gasp antagonism drugs and reliving drugs,the frequency of utilization is 35.0% and 21.6%respectively,then is regulating qi drugs,cold drugs,astringent drugs and antipyretic dugs,frequency is 9.3%,8.6%,7.8%,5.6% respectively.Conclusion: COPD in stable period is caused by exogenous and internal injuries.Essence-asthenia is the main pathogenesis of COPD in stable period.Visceral asthenia is principal,and appearance-sthenia is secondary.The major appearance is phlegm,blood stasis and retained fluid.Treatment is given priority to strengthening health qi,and eliminating pathogens at the same time.
