A Study On The Treatment Of Peri-menopausal Dry Eye Disease In Women With Weiss's Daisy And Nectar

OBJECTIVE Perimenopausal women have a very high risk suffering from dry eye.The pathogenesis and risk factors of Peri-menopausal dry eye are more complicated than Others.The current clinical treatments are mainly symptomatic treatment to relieve the uncomfortable symptoms related to dry eye.A therapy that Combine traditional Chinese and western medicine is recommended in clinical practice for this type of dry eye.Weishi Qiju Ganlu recipe had been used for many years for Peri-menopausal dry eye clinically,good curative effect has been obtained.The small cases observation previous,which lack of supports of strict design prospectie randomized controlled trials,brought inconvenience in the promotion for Wei’s eye valuable expe-rience in treatment of dry eye,and further research on the Mechanism of drug action.Specificated and rigorous revaluation is needed for the clinical curative effect of this recipe.so,This research intends to adopt the method of prospective randomized controlled trial to evaluate the effects of fumigation treatment of weishi Qiju Ganlu recipe treating Peri-menopausal dry eye.And at the same times,verify the pathogenesis of traditional chinese of aqueous tear deficiency Peri-menopausal dry eye.METHODS 1.Sixty Peri-menopausal female patients of liver and kidney deficiency in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)suffering from aqueous tear deficiency dry eyes were collected and divided into 2 groups and distributed the patients in clinic of the sequence,using the computer random number,which were treated either by Sodium Hyaluronate Eye Drops(control group)or weishi Qiju Ganlu recipe combined Sodium Hyaluronate Eye Dropstherapy(treatment group)respectively.2.Treatment group:30 cases(60eyes)fumigated with the Weishi Qiju Ganlu recipe(medlar,chrysanthemum,caulis dendrobii,dwarf lilyturf,solomonseal rhizome,coastalglehnia root,mulberry leaf,mint),once a day,every time 20 minutes;combined with Sodium Hyaluronate Eye Drops,four times a day eye.Control group:30 cases(60 eyes)are treated with Sodium Hyaluronate Eye Dropst only,four times a day.3.The tear break-up time(BUT),Schirmer I test(SIT),Fluorescein staining test,the total subjective symptoms scores of patients were detected and marked before treatment and 2 weeks after treatment.RESULTS 1.There is no significant difference between two groups in age,SIT,BUT,FL and the total subjective symptoms scores before treatment(P>0.05).2.After 14 days,the BUT in the treatment group and control group are better than that before treatment(P<0.05).Compared with the control group the BUT,FL and total subjective symptoms scores in the treatment group were better(P<0.05).But there is no significant difference in SIT between the two groups(P>0.05).3.The total effective rate was 76.7%in treatment group and 36.7%in control group and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).4.Analysis the symptoms,tongue and pulse data in TCM of aqueous tear deficiency Peri-menopausal dry eyes.The result Broa-dly in line with liver and kidney deficie-ncy in TCM.And the symptom of TCM of the cases:dry eye or kopiopia(88.3%),the mouth swallows dry does(63.3%),insomnia and dreamful sleep(53.3%)and dysphoria(18.3%).The Peri-menopausal female patients of liver and kidney deficiency in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)suffering from aqueous tear deficiency dry eyes in the research have it features in the symptom of TCM.CONCLUSIONS The study found fumigation treatment of weishi Qiju Ganlu recipe combined Sodium Hyaluronate Eye Drops therapy could improve the BUT and FL objective index,total symptoms scores of Peri-menopausal female patients with aqueous tear deficiency dry eye of liver and kidney deficiency in TCM.in terms of improve the tear film stability,accelerate corneal epithelial heal and ameliorate the subjective symptoms were better than the contral group.The therapy in the study play a protection,nutrition role in cornea and conjunctiva,promote tissue repair and shorten the course of the disease in treatment of Peri-menopausal dry eyes.
