ObjectiveIn this study, college students with depressive tendency were selected as subjects. We observed the variation of visual event-related potentials(ERP)from 2 stages of Imaginary Working training,in order to analyze the emotional regulating effect and mechanism of Imaginary Working to college students with depressive tendency and provide experiment scientific evidence for clinical psychological mental disease prevention, and enrich theory of Chinese medical qigong and psychology of Chinese medicine.MethodsCollege students with depressive tendency whose sores of Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS)≥ 50 had been recruited, and were assigned to intervention group and control group as 1:1 ratio.Intervention group accepted Imaginary Working training, control group without any intervention.Visual stimulus ERP data was collected,120 stimulus pictures are selected from the Chinese Affective Picture System(CAPS),including positive, neutral, negative pictures,40 each.Selected three types of pictures were difference in valence(F = 1295.93,P<0.05,M±SD:positive 7.02±0.28,5.52±0.33 neutral, negative 2.43±0.57),and arousal(F = 247.26,P<0.05,M±SD:positive 6.15±0.42,neutral 4.16±0.37,negative 5.33±0.41).The data of intervention group was collected 3 times.First collection point is before centralized training;Second collection point is before the self-practice;The third collection point at the end of the self-practice.The data of control group was collected 2 times.First and second collection points were same as the intervention group. The late positive potential was analyzed.Results1.The intervention group and control group in different pictures by each time window LPP average amplitude comparison:(1)Negative pictures:300-600ms,P4 electrode point showed significant differences(P<0.05),and the intervention group was smaller than the control group, the rest of the electrode point showed no significant difference(P>0.05);600-900ms FP2 electrode point showed significant differences(P<0.01),and the intervention group was larger than the control group, the rest of the electrode point showed no significant difference(P>0.05);900-1200ms FP2 electrode point showed significant differences(P<0.05),and the intervention group was larger than the control group, the rest of the electrode point showed no significant difference(P>0.05).(2)Neutral pictures:the intervention group and control group each electrode point under neutral pictures to stimulate LPP average amplitude comparison:300-600ms and 600-900m,each electrode point had no significant difference(P>0.05);900-1200ms F8,01 electrode point showed significant differences(P<0.05),and the intervention group was larger than the control group, the rest of the electrode point showed no significant difference(P>0.05).(3)Positive picture:300-600ms,P4 and PZ electrode point showed significant differences(P<0.05),intervention group is smaller than the control group, the rest of the electrode point showed no significant difference(P>0.05);600-900ms,each electrode poiint had no significant difference(P>0.05);900-1200ms,FZ electrode point showed significant differences(P<0.05),intervention group is smaller than the control group, the rest of the electrode point showed no significant difference(P>0.05).2.Comparison for two different forms of Imaginary working:(1)Negative pictures:differences between areas of the brain are 01,T3,TP7 F7,FC3,F4,FCZ(P<0.05).(2)Neutral pictures:differences between area is O1(P<0.05).(3)Positive picture:each electrode point had no significant difference(P>0.05).ConclusionsImaginary Working have the emotional ERP effect on college students with depression tendency, and negative emotion regulation effect compared with the positive and neutral are more obvious, the main regulatory region of the brain are prefrontal cortex and parietal cortex. The emotional mechanism of Imaginary Working for college students with depression tendency may be as follows;first,it reduces the reaction to negative or positive emotion, then, strengthens the processing of negative emotions,in order to get rid of negative emotions and take action; It weakens the positive emotional processing,in order to reduce its consumption of cognitive resources. In the face of the neutral pictures which are not strong emotional stimuli,Imaginary Working could strengthen the observation of college student with depression tendency, and make them have more interest.
