OBJECTIVE:sleep is an important activity process of physiology and psychology. With the changing of age, different ages will appear different sleep quality problems. And sleep is closely related to health, thus to speculate that the effect of the sleep quality of different age groups on health whether have different characteristics.Up to now, there were a lot of related researches of the effect of sleep quality on health had been done, the research object was also involved in different ages, but they had more studies on a certain age, lack of systematic assessment the differences in the research of the impact of sleep quality on health in different age groups. And the research methods, the evaluation standards etc were not unified, the specific differences of the effect of sleep quality of different age groups on the health reflected in which aspect is unclear. Therefore,it is necessary to enhance the study on this aspect. And health-related quality of life(HRQOL)is a new health evaluation index was developed under the background of new medical model transformation, can reflect the comprehensive connotation of modern health from the perspective of physiological, psychological and social life and so on,Therefore this study would use the health related quality of life to evaluate the differences of the effect of the sleep quality on health in different age groups, and offer more targeted advice for different age groups to improve their health. Methods:There were 1029 cases of adults who were over 18 years old as the research objects included in the analysis, which selected from the "different physiological parameters of pulse of traditional Chinese medicine constitution system survey of normal people" center database of the Beijing area.Survey contents included background, health related quality of life(SF-36),the sleep quality(PSQI).Adopting variance analysis method and Bonferroni test to analyze the differences of sleep quality scores, health related quality of life scores among different age groups.Using crrelation analysis method to study the crrelations between sleep quality scorse and health related quality of life scores in different age groups.Using Stepwise regression analysis method to research the effect of sleep quality on health-related quality of life in different age groups.Results:1.The sleep quality of different age groups:sleep time scores, sleep disorder scores and hypnotic drug use scores and daytime dysfunction scores of PSQI in the classification of different age groups all had statistical significance(P<0.05).Among them, the sleep time scores, sleep disturbance scores were all gradually increasing with age.2.The HRQOL of different age groups:scores of physical functioning(PF),scores of general health(GH),scores of mental componentsummary(MCS),scores of vitality(VT),scores of Role-E motional(RE),and the scores of mental health(MH)in the classification of different ages were statistically significant(P<0.05),and they were all gradually increasing with age without the general health(GH).3.The effect of sleep quality on HRQOL in different age groups:(1)The effect of sleep quality on physical component summary(PCS)in different age groups. The factors that affected the health-related quality of life of different age groups were included in the regression analysis model. The results showed that:Physical Component Summary(PCS),The factors that affected the physical component summary of different age groups both were daytime dysfunction(Beta:-0.34,-0.37,-0.34),sleep disorder(Beta:-0.20,-0.17,-0.26),the different factors were the subjective sleep quality of 31-44 age group(Beta:-0.1 1),fall-sleep time of 18-30 age group(Beta:-0.13).Physical Functioning(PF),the quality factors of 18-30 age group that affected the physiological function were sleep time(Beta:0.10),sleep disorders and daytime dysfunction(Beta both were:-0.12).The sleep quality factors of the 31-44 age group affected the physiological function scores were sleep efficiency(Beta:-0.12),daytime dysfunction(Beta:-0.23).The sleep quality factors of the≥45 age group affected the physiological function scores were subjective sleep quality(Beta:-0.19),sleep efficiency(Beta:-0.14).Role-physical(RP),the same factors that affected the role-physical of different age groups were daytime dysfunction(Beta:-0.19,-0.24,-0.14)and sleep disorders(Beta:-0.13,-0.11,-0.17),the different factors were the subjective sleep quality of 18-30 age group(Beta:-0.14).Bodily Pain(BP),the same sleep quality factors of the different age groups that affected the body pain were daytime dysfunction(Beta:-0.24,-0.31,-0.35).The different factors were the sleep disorders of 18-30 age group and 31-44 age group(Beta both were-0.17),sleep efficiency of the ≥45 age group(Beta:-0.13).General Health(GH),the same sleep quality factors of the different age groups that affected the general health were daytime dysfunction(Beta:-0.37,-0.36,-0.37),sleep disorders(Beta:-0.14,-0.18,-0.32),the different factors were the subjective sleep quality of 18-30 and 31-44 age group(Beta:-0.10,-0.19),the hypnotic drugs used of age groups of 31-44 and ≥45(Beta:0.10,0.12).(2)Mental Component Summary(MCS)in different age groups. The factors that affected the health-related quality of life of different age groups were included in the regression analysis model. The results showed that:Mental Component Summary(MCS),the same sleep quality factor of the different age groups that affected mental component summary(MCS)was the daytime dysfunction(Beta:-0.37,-0.48,-0.39),the different factors were the 31-44 age group’s subjective sleep quality(Beta:-0.20)and sleep efficiency(Beta:-0.11),the 18-30 age group’s sleep time(Beta:-0.13)and sleep disorder(Beta:-0.16).Vitality(VT),the same sleep quality factors of the different age groups that affected the vitality were daytime dysfunction(Beta:-0.51,-0.49,-0.38),sleep disorder(Beta:-0.19,-0.10,-0.20),the different factors were the fall-sleep time of the 18-30 age group(Beta:-0.13),the 31-44 age group’s subjective sleep quality and sleep efficiency(Beta both were-0.11).Social function(SF),the same sleep quality factors of the different age groups that affected the social function was daytime dysfunction(Beta:-0.31,-0.33,-0.40),the different factors were the subjective sleep quality of 18-30age group and 31-44age group(Beta:-0.13,-0.16),the sleep time of 31-44 age group(beta:-0.10).Role-Emotional(RE),the same sleep quality factors of the different age groups that affected the role-emotional was daytime dysfunction(Beta:-0.21,-0.31,-0.23),the different factors were the sleep disorders of 18-30 age group(Beta:-0.17),the subjective sleep quality of 31-44 age group(Beta:-0.15).Mental Health(MH),the same sleep quality factors of the different age groups that affected the mental health was daytime dysfunction(Beta:-0.34,-0.41,-0.30),the different factors were the sleep disorders of 18-30 age group and,45 age group(Beta:-0.17,-0.25),31-44 age group’s subjective sleep quality(Beta:-0.25)and sleep efficiency(Beta:-0.10).Conclusion:The sleep quality factors of influence of health related quality of life in different ages were roughly same, but there were certain differences. The sleep quality factors that affect the health-related quality of life in different age groups are all daytime dysfunction. The second major sleep quality factors affecting the health-related quality of life of 18-30 years age group and ≥45 age group was daytime dysfunction. The second major sleep quality factor affecting the health-related quality of life of 31-44 age group was subjective sleep quality. In addition, the other difference were that the sleep time of 18-30 age group had a negative impact on the physical component summary(PCS),mental component summary(MCS)and the subordinate vitality scores. The sleep efficiency of the 31-44 age group negatively affected the physical functioning(PF),mental component summary(MCS)and the subordinate vitality and mental health(MH)scores. It was noteworthy that the sleep time of the 18-30 age group positively affects the physical functioning(PF)scores, the hypnotic drug use in the 31-44 age group and the ≥45 age group had a positive effect on the general health(GH)scores.
