| Purpose: To observe the clinical effect of acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of TMD,and to explore the mechanism,acupuncture point and prescription selection.Method:According to the inclusion standards,exclusion standards,and falling standards,90 patients have been chosen.By using the principle of random number table,patients are divided into acupuncture combined with TCM group,acupuncture only group and TCMonly group.Acupuncture combined with medicine group according to the diagnosisis given to acupuncture and herbal for treatment;acupuncturegroup receives thetreatment of acupuncture;traditional Chinese medicine group according to syndrome is treated in herbals.The three groups are treated at the same time.Observation items: visual analog scale,Friction index of temporomandibular joint(including temporomandibular joint dysfunction index,muscle tenderness index).Results: 1.Three methods have effect on relieving the pain of TMD(P<0.05),and the acupuncture combined with medicine can reduce treatment cycle.2.All these methods are equally effective in the treatment of mandibular movement,joint pressure and muscle pressure(p<0.05);3.Correlative study of the TCM syndrome pattern:It tested by VAS shows that bloodstagnation type,weakness of spleen and stomach type and Kidney-Yang deficiency type can be treated well by using the acupuncture combined with medicine method;4acupuncture combined with medicine method can achieve the same treatment effect compared with those two methods tested by Friction.Conclusion: 1.The acupuncture combined with medicine method can treat well in relieve the pain of bloodstagnation type,weakness of spleen and stomach type and Kidney-Yang deficiency type;2.All those three methods have the same effect in the specifically symptoms of TMD; 3.The acupuncture combined with medicine method can not be the best way to treat TMD.It still needs more observations to discover the better way than this one. |
