Medical History Research On The Court Medical Archives During The Guangxu Period

In the period of Guangxu,the records of the court medical records were very rich.At present,Chen Keji and his team had collated and published the books of the imperial medical files and the court medical research in Qing Dynasty,and then the collection was published as the Integration of the Qing Palace Medical Cases.These original medical files had a large number of cases of royal members,and these cases had the unified format,the clear content,and details like doctor,sick members,pulse,symptoms,prescriptions,medine and other records.Because of various reasons,there were also private records of the court medical cases in Guangxu period,which had small amount but rich contents,including the doctors' records of the diseases and pulse of the royal members,including the royal room etiquette,regulations,interpersonal relations,daily news and the struggle between doctors and so on.Although the record of the private record was not as clear as the official medical records,but in terms of its content,it was a supplement to the official medical archives and a supplement to the court medical affairs of the Qing Dynasty.The imperial medical archives in the Guangxu period were relatively complete,however,for various reasons,there were still loss,omission and confusion.Some medical cases had not been lost but the years had not been tested.Some medical cases did not been paid attention to by Chen Keji,and the year lost medical records were directly classified as "unknown medical records of the year".These problems caused by the archives had caused some difficulties in the study of the court medical cases in Guangxu period,and some of the rumors had also emerged because of the unclear records of the official medical records.This paper made a comprehensive comparison of the imperial medical records,private records and other related records during the Guangxu period to discuss the problems existing in the official medical records of Guangxu period.There were similarities and differences in doctor requisition between Guangxu period and the former dynasties.In this period,there were many doctors requisitioned by royal,and most of the doctors were requisitioned by normal officials or local doctors.These doctors were an important part of the palace medical treatment in Guangxu period.Their biographies were scattered in various local chronicles and other ancient books,their life,academic thoughts and the characteristics of the group were worth studying.At the end of the Qing Dynasty,the physical condition of the Empress Dowager Ci Xi and Emperor Guangxu were concerned interiorly and abroad.There were many different records about the physical condition and disease of them,this brought some confusion to the study of history and history in the last years of the Qing Dynasty.Through the court medical archives,the court medical records of private records and various records,the physical status of Empress Dowager Ci Xi and Guangxu emperor could be studied in all aspects,and the physical condition of the two people was evaluated as objective as possible,which was of benefit to the research of medical and history research.Palace medicine matters was an important part of palace medicine.In the period of Guangxu,doctor requisition was an important part of court medical matters.There were different reasons for the medical treatment in Guangxu period,and different reasons were worth exploring.Requisitioned doctors had a very important position in the court medical treatment,some officials got an advancement because of the participation of medical treatment.Therefore,the effect of the medical treatment and the influence on the court medical treatment was also worth studying.In addition,the palace medical treatment was a part of the royal life,but the court medical treatment was not as perfect as people think,there were many uncircumvented shortcomings,these shotcomings were also worth studying.
