As an immigration country, the development of Chinese Language and culture in Canada isjust like the Chinese people here, spreading across Canada. New Brunswick is a small provincein the east of Canada. The Chinese language and culture development started with the foundationof Chinese Association here. And the establishment of Confucius Institute in New Brunswickcontributed to the Chinese Language Lesson into a national education system. By now, the studyand research about the Chinese popularization in New Brunswick is still empty. In this paper, theauthor takes the advantage of being a Chinese teacher here, using the methods of lectures,observation, interviews, questionnaire investigation, literature to do the research of the Chinesepopularization in New Brunswick. The capital of the province Fredericton, the biggest citymoncton, the most ancient city of Saint John, account for fifty percent of the total population ofthe province, and most Chinese teaching institutions are located in the three cities, so theinvestigation focuses on the three cities. In the process of writing, I have sent232questionnairesto the Chinese leaners of the three cities in different levels, visited various Chinese teachingorganizations, interviewed many people concerned and learned the classes operation throughobserving. The abundant information and data helped me to know the present situation ofChinese popularization in New Brunswick. At the same time, I found the problems in it. In thispaper I will discuss the solutions for the problems in order to keep the sustainable developmentof Chinese popularization.The main body of the paper is divided into four chapters to start on:Part I?This article introduces the origin of writing, as well as the significance of the paper.Part II: Introduce the Chinese Associations in Fredericton, Moncton, Saint John,appreciating their contribution in the early times and pointing out some problems in theirChinese School.Part III: Introduce the Confucius Institute in New Brunswick, their Chinese Lessons inNew Brunswick and the cultural activities in the past4years. Try to make an objective analysisof the present situation of the Confucius Institute.Part IV: Make a comprehensive analysis of the situation of Chinese popularization in NewBrunswick and put forward the corresponding strategy to solve the problems----continue tostrengthen the cooperation of the organization and actively develope diversified culturalactivities, strengthen the pertinence activities; Improve the quality of Chinese classes; combinethe language teaching and HSK; Choose a more targeted materials and auxiliary materials;Improve teacher's level.
