Xing Tong is a calligrapher as well as a litterateur who lived in the late Ming Dynasty. He has a great achievement both in calligraphy and literature. This thesis, taking his peregrination as a point of penetration, concludes Xing Tong's integrated calligraphic thoughts through the research of his peregrination and presents his artistic attainments and influences as complete as possible via the research of his peregrination and calligraphic thoughts.This thesis contains three parts:The first part introduces the historical background and the lifetime of Xing Tong, which are the foundation of his individuality development as well as the thought formation.The second part explains the incentives of Xing Tong's thought formation through the exploration of his peregrination including his deep communication with his literary friends,politician and his teachers.The third part generalizes Xing Tong's integrated calligraphic thoughts and shows the exteriorization of his calligraphic thoughts—his artistic attainments.The conclusion part simply reviews the value and influences of Xing Tong's calligraphic thoughts.To make a long story short, this thesis, basing on his peregrination, tries to bond Xing Tong's calligraphy, political affiliation, literature and other factors all together through multilevel and multi-angle analysis and exploration, studies mainly on his peregrination and the formation of his calligraphic thoughts, and summarizes the internal venation of the development of his calligraphic as well as artistic thoughts. Therefore, this thesis, synchronically, aims to enrich the exploration about Xing Tong's calligraphy and diachronically, provides us with abundant information in exploring his status and artistic value in the calligraphic history.
