"OH, HAD I JUBAL'S LYRE" is a cantata Joshua by George Friedrich-Handel, a British composer born in German. He writes an old English oratorio song "OH, HAD I JUBAL'S LURE" excerpts in Joshua, HWV 64. During the postgraduate studying, I sing the first Baroque oratorio works with guidance of my tutor. In order to perform the works to express the feelings and improve their own profession level, I chose to analysis "OH, HAD I JUBAL'S LURE" to study of Handel's oratorio version. The first part of this dissertation introduces the connotation of music experience. Through the depth analysis of the composer Handel's life and the background of the works, I understand the Content summary about "OH, HAD I JUBAL'S LURE". The second part carries on the music ontology analysis in two aspects of horizontal and vertical, for example, Melody, mode, intensity, speed, accompaniment, harmony and so on. The third part introduces the different singers like Kathleen Battle, Caballe and Lesley Garrett who works of the style of singing and the expression of emotion, comparison that singer, the author has a more profound understanding and grasp in the process of singing. The last part summarizes the musical style of the concert and the expression of emotion in music art. In order to cultivate a good appreciation of music habits, understand the meaning of the song reveals and the expression of emotion, improve performance skills and make a great contribution to the future studying.
