Liaozhai Illusion Theory

This paper takes phantasmagoria of“Liao Zhai Zhi Yi“(simplified as Liao Zhai in the following sections)as the research object,divided into three parts: introduction,body and conclusion.The introduction, introduce the origin of the topic and the survey research about this topic selecting.The body is divided in to four chapters.The Chapter one is the generalization.The first section illustrate the concept of phantasmagoria.The second section,according to chronological, brief summarize phantasmagoria depict in the fiction before Liao Zhai, combining different creative ideas, phantasmagoria description and artistic expression of each historical periods, clear the progress of development of phantasmagoria depict. The third section make a definition for the research object—“Liao Zhai phantasmagoria”, clarifying the intension and extention about this concept of this paper, indicating that the broad phantasmagoria concept is adopted in this paper.The chapter two,on the basis of separating the concept, induce the types of Liao Zhai phantasmagoria in the first section. In large respect,it can be divided into four types: Fairyland, Ghostdom, Demon world, Dreamland. Basing on the types repartition, The first section summarize several fixed kinds of phantasmagoria entrance,discussing and deducing the trigger mechanism of phantasmagoria entrance among the odinary person.The chapter three takes a overall view to kinds of phantasmagoria by the author. The phantasmagoria occur frequently in more than four hundred and ninety articles,but some,don't have obvious thought connotation, so here don' m a-ke much account.and focus on phantasmagoria articles that have clear connotation. This chapter is divided into three parts,elaborating the recognition of Liao Zhai phantasmagoria:The first section research Liao Zhai phantasmagoria'seducation from two aspects of the moral care and life enlightenment.The second section expound Liao Zhai phantasmagoria's realistic color and surpassing spirit,focusing on the surpass of reality The third section makes a further sublimation on the basis of the second section” surpass of reality”. Relishing Liao Zhai phantasmagoria we can clearly feel the spiritual comfort and Ideal pursuit resorting to the phantasmagoria by Pu Songling.The chapter four elaborating the artistry of Liao Zhai phantasmagoria from four two aspects, with the purpose of revealing why the author pioneer a phantasmagoria area excepting the real world. The first section esplains Pu Songling's creating motivation from the aspects of time and artistic interest. The second section and the third section analyse the phantasmagoria's artistic function and expressional effect from revealing the social essence and the human nature,discussing the difference between creating reality fancifully and reflecting,reality directly, The four section discussing its aesthetic implication from the bizarre beauty and the poetic beauty.The conclusion,makes the summary and definition.Through the multicoloured and multifarious phantasmagoria,we can feel Pu Songling's profound bailment. Liao Zhai phantasmagoria is not only a spatial environment for plot unfolding and figure activing,but also has special significance and value in recognition and artistry.It load the author's thoughts and express the theme in unique ways,which has boundless artistic charm.Which will be illustrated is that Liao Zhai has various kinds of versions, This paper takes Zhang Youhe's proofreading,annotating remarking version of Liao Zhai Zhi Yi by Shanghai Ancient Books Publishing House which published in 1978 as a main reference,each citation no longer add additional annotateons.
