Music Appreciation, a public compulsory course of Qingdao Normal School for Preschool Teachers, is designed for junior college students majoring in preschool education. This course aims at cultivating professionals who are equipped with high musical aesthetic ability and wide vision of music culture, and shaping their positive attitude to life and good value. Built on the value of humanism and student-centeredness, the course concentrates on students' interest and quality constitutes. On the basis of teaching experiences and training standard of talents and requirements of preschool teachers published by Ministry of Education, according to practical investigation and guidance as well as the suggestions given by the experts, the excellent course Music Appreciation is established through editing textbooks, collecting resources, correcting teaching methods, formulating evaluation, and designing website. Meanwhile, this course sticks to the direction of integration of teaching and learning, abstract teaching and concrete teaching,and interesting learning.Based on case analysis of the course Music Appreciation of Qingdao Normal School for Preschool Teachers, this thesis explores the course's construction and application. The whole thesis consists of five chapters. Chapter one introduces the current situation at home and abroad about excellent course and the concept and theoretical foundation relevant to it by collecting and searching a plenty of literature materials. Besides, this chapter clearly states the purpose and significance of the study and presents proper research approaches to ensure successful achievement. Chapter two illustrates the necessity and feasibility of excellent course construction of preschool teachers and further describes its concept and construction direction through previous investigation about it. Chapter three summarizes concrete implementation scheme of the excellent course at Qingdao Normal School for Preschool Teachers in the past two years and then theorizes construction practice of Music Appreciation from five aspects, that is, teaching material research and development, compilation of teaching resource, reform of teaching pattern,development of network platform and construction of evaluation system. Chapter four introduces a scientific assessment plan that is designed in application of effective courses and then makes a comparison of data acquired in sampling observation, questionnaire and grades between experimental classes and reference classes, in order to obtain the value of the course Music Appreciation. Chapter five as a summary of this study presents practical experiences of thecourse Music Appreciation in Qingdao Normal School for Preschool Teachers and analyzes some problems about it to provide direction for future study. We hope this study will offer some references about relevant theory and practice to prove its value.
