An Analysis Of The Piano Adaptation "The Ten Faces Ambush"

Shimian maifu,or ambush on all sides,is a famous piece of long lute music in the history of our country.The music takes the chu han contention as its theme.Throught varied rhythms and stirring melody,it vividly depicts the scene of the decisive battle between Liubang and Xiangyu in Gaixia using a structured pattern.The sounds of metal,drums,swords and crossbows,people and horse,sounds like real.The magnificent scene makes the audience feel that they were in the real scene.The pianist Mr,Yin chengzong adapted it to piano compositions in 1973.In this paper,taking the piano music " ambush on all sides " as the research object,we analyze this piece of music in terms of the source of lute,its adaption background,grasp of music style and the music ontology analysis,then deeply excavate the national spirit,national beauty and national motion of Chinese ancient music duduced by piano.This paper dissertates the music piece in the following aspects:The first part gives a brief discussion of Mr.Yin Chengzong and the adaption of the music.So that the player can have a objective feel of the composition.The second part makes a specific analysis of the composition,so the player can grasp the playing style of the music and have a clear idea.Because the imitation of the pipa using piano,there needs a analysis of the specific embouchure.From changes in the rhythm and the beat,the using of the fingering,the intensity change of different sections,and the use of grace notes etc.are reviewed and discussed.The third part gives an analysis and comparison between the piano version and the original version.Through the contrast of the two versions,different styles and charm,playing techniques,manifestations,we summed up the creation techniques and the essential characteristics of the adaptation from Chinese classical music to piano music.
