Research On The Living Conditions Of Chinese Independent Documentary Directors

Documentary always reflect the historical route of a country and society. We usually focus on content of the documentary and ignore the person that behinds the documentary, however independent film directors are the eyes to record others and society, so knowing what the living condition of Chinese independent film directors is necessary and important in this paper, choosing recently three years(2013-2015) independent film directors as data sample who active in the industry, Using qualitative study and questionnaire investigation to have an interview and induction, try to have a conclude for living condition of today's Chinese independent film directors.According to 20 interviewee's interview and more than 100 questionnaires result, I found that directors'occupational ecological condition such as shortage of funds? narrow communication channel have an improvement,but there exists some normal condition, for example it's difficult to take back the money although there are more investment in today's film industry; major income of independent directors is from other works instead of as a director's earns. In first chapter, paper has an analysis on occupation consciousness and confidence based on independent directors' occupation situation; for the second chapter we discuss the internal factors that influence directors' occupation ecology, include practitioner group environment and media environment; third chapter we focus on external factors, from politics, economy to cultural environment. In the last chapter, we put forward some suggestions on independent film development based on industrialization, so that after researching the relationship between living condition and industry ecological, I hope this paper could provide more information for professors and attract their attention for directors' development.
