The purpose of this study is to explore the positive effect of regulatory fit on self-depletion. Recruiting 67 high-school students, study one used two factors between subjects design, regulatory orientation (level:promotion focus vs. prevention focus) and the result expectation (level:positive expectation vs. negative expectation) as independent variables and the level of delay discount as dependent variable. Fit was made in the task of self-control through combining regulatory orientation to the result expectation, and then subjects were asked to conduct the delay discount task without rest.Study two recruiting 51 high-school students, also adopted two factors between subjects design, regulatory orientation (level:promotion focus vs. prevention focus) and behavioral strategy (level:approach strategy vs. avoidance strategy) as independent variables and the scores and reaction time of recognition task as dependent variables. During the experiment, the participants were asked to perform self control, and then to conduct the word-recognizing task, and the fit between regulatory orientation and behavioral strategy was made in the process of the task.Study one's results showed that match between regulatory orientation and result expectation significantly increased the AUC (F= 6.204, p= 0.015, partial ?2=0.091), but neither of the main effect were significant (F= 1.447, p= 0.234; F= 0.344, p= 0.560). Study two's results showed the match did not significantly increase individuals' score(F= 1.582, p= 1.582), and neither of the main effect were significant (F= 0.013, p= 0.910; F= 0.050, p= 0.823), but the match did decrease reaction time (F=5.573, p= 0.022, partial;?2=0.106), and neither of the main effect were significant too (F= 2.177,p= 0.147; F=0.001,p= 0.973).These results indicate the regulatory fit has the effect to resist and compensate for self-depletion, which suggest a positive influence of regulatory fit on self-depletion.
