| Emotion cognition and regulation are of great importance to children. This research aims to study the effects of picture books on children's ability of emotion cognition and regulation. We study the topic with the "questionnaire of emotion cognition" and the "scale of emotion regulation ". And we randomly select two first-grade classes, one is experimental group and the other is control group. The experimental group should read the emotional picture books twice a week and for eight weeks. After reading, they will do some additional activities such as the group discussion and role play. The control group, however, receives the traditional teaching activities. The independent variable is the emotional picture reading activities, and the dependent variable is the ability of children's emotion cognition and regulation. Finally, we analyze the measurement data of children's abilities of emotional cognition and regulation and then explain the experimental results.During the research, we collect and sort the materials include the activity of emotional picture-book reading, emotional picture-book teaching plan and some case studies. Then we choose the typical cases as qualitative auxiliaries for better understanding of the performance of the experimental group after picture book reading.The study shows that:1. The experimental group and the control group have a significant difference in the emotions of sadness and fear, and also in the total points of emotional cognition, while they show no significant difference in the emotion cognition of happiness and anger.2. After the emotional picture book reading, the experimental group and the control group has a great difference in the dimensions and total goal of emotion regulation.3. After 16's times' picture book reading, the experiment group has created a great atmosphere and they can recognize different emotions accurately. And also, their ability of emotion regulation has been improved greatly. |
