A Study On The Possibility Of "Derailment" As Aesthetic Experience

The research purpose of this paper is to analyze the social phenomenon "derailment" from the perspective of aesthetics. While hitting the realistic meaning of this issue, this study also shows solicitude for human's inner feeling with a neutral academic attitude. This paper is neither written for defending the derailment, nor for the sake of condemnation, blame and advisement, but only hopes to make a discussion of "derailment" with an aesthetic outlook.Dating back to the sexual relations of prehistoric human, it can be found that the "derailment" is a child of human's civilized society. As a kind of contractual relationship, the marriage leads to the alienation of the sexual relation while maintaining the human civilization. It is due to this kind of alienation that "derailment" has become an outlet to release sexual desire and to pursue love. The process of "derailment" correlates to the factors of aesthetic mentality in itself, which means the pleasant sensation, pleasure, tension and sadness accompanied with the process. According to this factor, "derailment" has become an aesthetic object of literature and fine art. Based on this fact, this paper will illustrate how "derailment" happens with aesthetic principles such as "empathy theory" and "sympathy theory" and so forth, pointing to the rebellion of life and the confrontation to time. As an aberrant mental state or behavior, "derailment" has been pull by two forces, the force of reality and that of advance, presenting a pendent state which happens to bring a sense of happiness and hope to people, but then it appears to be an eternal state of tragic beauty.Literature is characterized by life as well as reconstruct the life. In the process of practical research, the object of analysis is "derailment" in the literary works which include The Golden lotus, Madame Bovary, Anna Karenina, The Unbearable Lightness of Being and Ulysses. Here the appearance of "Derailment" is not only a direct show of reality, but also contains the aesthetic implication of art. The "derailment" was put into an extreme situation in the literature without any utilitarian point of view, revealing its aesthetic connotation and an deeper nature of the life."Derailment" is one of the forms presented by the concept of love, but it not totally equals to love. Although both of the two is irrational and unstable, "derailment" often occurs before the love coming into being or when it disappeared. Therefore, when discussing the "derailment", one should begin to write with imaginary love and its aesthetic nature, then to analyze the relationship between the "derailment" and love in a way that a single kernel is successively packaged, discussing the possibility that the "derailment" is considered as an aesthetic experience.
