Female Consciousness In The Writings Of Female Writers In The 1990s

The number of literary works of the Nineties growd rapidly due to open culture, on the other hand, the emergence of the market economy make literature in an edge position compared to the previous condition.Writers have more freedom in diversify creation.Because of the feminist theory in late 1980s, female consciousness of female writers awaked, resulting in an increase of female consciousness in female writers' works of the 1990s. Novels of female writers firstly published in 1989 to 2000 are mainly discussed in this article.Firstly, female writers reflect on and think over the status of vulnerable women in the first chapter and analyze the reasons for its existence. Because being restricted by gender both men and women have fixed gender temperament, women's function is being aesthetic object in addition to female fertility so as to meet the need of men who has strong initiative to survive.These in turn lead to week positioning of women in the world and women also think so,which constitute unfavorable living environment.Secondly,after recognizing woman's living environment and fixed identity, women writers try to establish their subjectivity in gender relation and create women's new social character in the second chapter.That will help promote a new generation of relation between men and women and develop women's own independent personality.Thirdly, women writers in the Nineties not only develop women's subjectivity from the individual perspective in the third chapter, but also deconstruct three macro perspective affecting the realistic:consensus,language and history.Women writers keep their clear suspicion and review the situation.They try to change fixed mode of thinking in literary way in order to affect existing models and readers' unconscious acceptance of thinking,make literature act on the reality.Finally, the fourth chapter describes the significance and limitations of female consciousness in Women Writers' novels in the Nineties and the effect in women writers in new century.Their works are people-oriented.On the basis of concern about the survival of middle-class women and womens positive female self-expression,Women writers discuss gender poetics and pay close attention to the survival of underlying women.At the same time, gradually increase of female consciousness in public, result in some new aesthetic phenomenon concerning gender in the works of writers in new century. At last,I analyze the limit of individualism tendency in the novels of women writers in the Nineties and the evolution of this tendency in the following women writers' novels.
