The Creative Characteristics And Performance Analysis Of Bartok's "Two Romanian Dances, Op. 8a"

Béla Bartók is considered one of the most important national musicologists,composers and pianists of the 20 th century.He is also one of the most influential and creative occidental composers of the first half of the twentieth century.His most important achievement is to discover the true inspiration of musical creation from the national and folk music.In addition,he has focused in this field deeply in composing the national and folk melodies with the occidental classical and modern composition techniques.As his musical creation effuses rich elements of Eastern Europe national music,he is the master soul of national and folk music.This paper starts primitively with Bartók and his music characteristics by indicating that his personal characters are presented by his rhythms and beats,modality and tonality and so on.On this basis,this paper analyses relatively in detail the characteristics of Bartók'swork Two Romanian Dances OP.8a and considers three main characteristics which are: 1.national and folk music elements presented in his works;2.musical structure and modality / tonality distribution containing traditional characteristics;3.lots of creative elements presented in his works.Basing on the characteristics of Two Romanian Dances OP.8a,the following key-points should be paid attention: 1.different requests of pumping pedal for different theme melodies;2.different mental transformation presupposions for different musical structures and modality / tonality distributions;3.utilization of key tapping in the musical compositions;4.skill requests of payer for frequent changes of speed and power control.The objective of this paper is to make every piano player understand and realize more clearly and appropriately the true connotation of this work,thus,to help more piano players to improve their instrument practice efficiency and to give a more pleasant and delicate performance.This paper can also help those players who are not so clear with how to perform the timbre treatment of Bartók's music works.
