Conflict Discourse Research

Conflict talk is a linguistic method used for opposing the other party's standpoint or viewpoint in communication.Based on speech act theory,this study adopts the methods of literary collection and classification,corpus analysis and case study,analyzes the development and classifications of the conflict talks in the TV series Divorce Lawyer.It explains how the characters in the TV series settle conflict talks from cooperative principle and politeness principle in pragmatic principles.From the internal perspective,the study of conflict talks between husband and wife will help us understand whether or not these conflict talks will lead to incompatible relations,breakdown of marriages,and potentially cause the divorce.From the external perspective,the study of conflict talks of divorce lawyers and others,will help us understand whether or not the conflict talks will worsen the contradiction between husband and wife,and expedite the divorce.The result of this study will theoretically testify the feasibility of analyzing conflict talks from speech act theory,and the effectiveness of explaining the coping strategy of conflict talk from pragmatic principles.It will practically serve as a guide between husband and wife to avoid,ease and eliminate the negative effect of conflict talks,offer suggestions on how to reduce conflict talks to husband and wife,and provide measures for husband and wife to improve the verbal communication skills.
