A Study On The Cultural Life And Industrial Development Of The Hui Nationality In Miyun Town, Chengdu

Culture industries are all products of this new economic development boom. Due to the limit and non-renewability of the physical resource, industrial economies are now facing an unprecedented challenge. Therefore, adjusting and upgrading China's industrial structure is imperative. In additionally, since the property of low cost, high income and correspondence with the market trends, culture industry has gained more and more attention from the field of politics, academics and so on. China is always regarded as a cultural giant in the world. The traditional Chinese cultures are not only represented by the core of Confucianism, but also by the variety of brilliant, rich historical national cultures. These fortunes with Chinese characteristics are unparalleled in any other countries which have similar size to China.Mimou is located in the center of Sichuan Basin, northeast suburb of West Sichuan Plain hinterland. It is also one of the major regions for Muslim religious activities with unique cultures and long history. Hence, it is worth both researching and developing of tourism. However, our current national culture is too minor among the public and it also costs too much and lacks the competitiveness. Take the towns around Chengdu City as an example, both the Luodai ancient town which is famous for the Hakka culture and the Huang Long valley which is famous for its excellent scenery have achieved a great progress during the development of culture industry. On the contrary, although the Mimou ancient town has rich national culture resources and is also close to the Chengdu City, it is much less famous than the other two towns. Consequently, the Mimou ancient town grows very slowly and its development heavily depends on its traditional agricultural production.Due to the aforementioned problems, we have selected the Mimou Ancient town as the investigating object in this thesis. This paper analyzes development of the unique national culture resources through field investigation, visiting, consulting, information inquiring and other methods. In addition, this paper applies the modern theory of management, economics and ethnology to analyze ethnic culture industry.Firstly, this article provides a quick review of the history, ethnic culture and economy life of Mimou. From the view of whole point, the thorough understanding of the culture and economy will be helpful for the arrangement and development of resources. Secondly, the SWOT method is utilized to analyze the opportunity and threat for the local national culture. Mimou has not only the unique national culture and history, but also the specific architecture styles and food cultures. However, these typical features are not widely advertised and promoted due to the isolated location and weak consciousness of national culture. Thirdly, further explore and sum up the Mimou cultural industry feasibility of development strategy. Thirdly,, the possible modes of development for the culture industry of Mimou are analyzed by the SWOT method. The influence and problems which will be met in the future are presented. At last, several comments on protecting the culture industry are provided.With the development of the society, national traditional culture has been pushed to the margin of the public view. And there also exists a conflict between the development of national traditional culture and its protection. In detail, on the one hand, the national traditional culture is independent on the modern economy, hence, the development will cause the loss of the culture. On the other hand, if the culture is isolated and rejects to communicate with the outer world it will suffer the declines. Henceforth, the traditional and national culture should be merged into everywhere in our daily life and try to catch up with the development of the modern society an technology. China should develop its own unique culture and culture industry to become more and more influential in the world.
