In 1517,Martin Luther published The Ninety-Five Theses which attached pontiff in writing who sold “indulgence” and lift the curtain on religious reform.In 1521,Martin Luther fired papal excommunicative breve in public,which promoted religious reform.The religious reform in Germany accelerated the foundation of Protestantism.It affected modern social formation and the development of society and culture in Germany.This paper introduces the history background and development of religious reform.It emphasizes on the influence of religious reform on German social and language culture,which provides theoretical foundation for the further understanding of German culture.
