This thesis through to the Martin Luther religious reform after the chant music research, analyze chant music in 18th——19th century German composer application and significance of this paper discusses mainly the characteristics of “God is our strong fortress”and its music elements in Bach’s cantata religious reform, and Mendelssohn composed the religious reform symphony, the application of the two works and then discuss DE chant music features, pursue chant music for Germany’s impact on the development of music.This thesis is divided into four parts:The first part: The creation of the Martin Luther chant music. This paper mainly discusses the background of the Germany religious reform in the 16 th century, and Martin Luther in the reformation chant music creation, and the representative works of “God is our strong fortress”are analyzed.In the religious works of the second part: Bach to chant music the use of “God is our strong fortress”. Under the background of the baroque period, Bach’s religious music works created, analysis for the religious reform cantata book Bach chant music “God is our strong fortress” and of the music features.The third part: Mendelssohn religion do the bottle to chant music “God is our strong fortress”. The introduction of the German romantic period development of chant music, discusses the religious works of music creation of Mendelssohn and analysis of Mendelssohn symphony of reformation of the chant music“God is our strong fortress”and of the music features.The fourth part: from “God is our strong fortress” in the later use of music works at German st Of the characteristics of the music. To the“God is our strong fortress”as a starting point, placed Germany chant music in western music history and culture,the background of the transverse the analysis and discussion combined with the former three parts, a brief analysis and evaluation of Germany’s chant music features and the significance.
