With the rapid development of the multimedia,the TV talk show has become one of people's favorite television programs.This thesis studies the power relation between host and guests in the TV interview program-Jin Xing Show,and it is based on the theoretical framework of turn-taking model put forward by Sacks,Schegloff and Jefferson.The style of program is very approachable,and the interviewer Jin Xin's questions are well-formulated and incisive.In this interview,the form of conversation is similar with the daily conversation,and the style of this interview is different from other TV programs.At the beginning,the theory of turn-taking is used to analyze daily conversation,so it is very easy to analyze this program according to the theory of turn-taking.The interviewer always asks some related hot and sensitive topics according to interviewees' different social background,which can reveal the unequal power relation between host and guests.By studying this talk show,we can see most of turns of host and guests are constituted by sentences.In terms of turn allocation,most of the time,interviewer allocate turns to guests,and guests are more passive and they have limited power.According to turn-taking strategies,interviewer often employs the strategies of turn-holding and turn-yielding,and the interviewees often employ the strategies of turn-holding to express their ideas.The study is aimed to study the different power relation between the host and guests in the Jin Xing Show,and help promote multiment of Chinese TV talk show to a new level.
