Suzuki Tadashi is the only Asian theater director among 10 greatest theaters masters,including Meierkholid,Bertolt Bercht,Perter Brook,Robert Wilson and so on,in 20 century.Because his unique Actors Training Methods can greatly explore actors’ original energy,which is called ‘Animal Energy’,Suzuki Methods has been highly and widely recommending within the international theatre industry for long time.Due to his frequent cooperation with China these years,Suzuki Method starts to attract considerable attention in our country.Its inheritance and development of Japanese traditional culture also arouse people’s thinking and curiosity.But the lack of research,investigation and understanding,incomprehension and misunderstanding are rapidly followed.Writer closely researched and observed Suzuki Theatre productions,multiply interviewed Suzuki and some other relevant Artists by working with himself,deeply investigating and comprehending the company.Moreover,explore how Suzuki Method forge actors’ body and spirit,discover the professional reason why Suzuki Company is able to be the one of the best in the world,also catch sight of the specificity of the style of Suzuki Theatre and its common spots with realistic theatre.Besides,writer also explored the problems of combination between modern theatre and Chinese traditional culture,the present theatre education issues,and the struggle and contradictions between theatre Arts and social commercialization.In addition,writer contrasted Suzuki Theatre with other style of theatre,such as Stanislavski,Jerzy Grotowski,Yuri Petrovich,Lyubimov and Jacques Lecoq,analyze the similarities and differences from them,to search the better way to train and improve actors’ body and spirit.
