On The Application And Transformation Of Gold And Silver In The Furnishings

With the social and cultural development,people's living standards continue to improve,and the word "art" is involved in life and has a tremendous impact on the way and space of life.Furnishing artworks,as the most direct communication media between art,space and people,give space more artistic experience.But with the replacement of popular elements and the improvement of people's aesthetic level,furnishing artworks market under mass production has practical problems such as reproduced design concept and simple materials.How to find the design approach most suitable for current lifestyle and cultural characteristics of China is the problem every designer is thinking about and trying,and the traditional Chinese handicraft most closely linked with furnishing artworks is the materialization of ancient Chinese aristocratic life and the most direct way to reflect the Chinese culture and art style.Gold and silver plating is an important fine metal decoration process in the traditional Chinese handicraft,and because of its complex process and precious materials,it was mostly used in the symbol of royal and aristocratic gorgeous spirit.Gold and silver plating can be said to be a representative of a period of metal decoration process and a historical manifestation in the social and cultural background of a period of history.The aesthetic orientation of decorative language,exquisite craftsmanship,or the cultural and social background and lifestyle reflected has a very high artistic value.But due to technology,materials and other factors,now the gold and silver plating is only inherited in the jewelry industry and bronze repair and antiquing industry,but only limited to its process rather than applied in the furnishings that have existed since ancient times.Therefore,it is the main problem explored by the author in the design and practice to use modern materials technology to apply the gold and silver plating in the design of modern furnishing artworks so as to retain its artistic effect,avoid the problems in traditional production and reduce its cost and process difficulty,achieve the design and creation of furnishing artworks in line with the modern way of life,and use the modern design thinking to express the traditional ideas of creation under the influence of traditional craft culture and modern design thinking according to the aesthetic requirements of modern people so as to inherit its artistic effect and historical culture.This paper consists of three parts.The first part is the author's research and analysis on the development context,application scope and ornamentation development of traditional gold and silver plating.The second part puts forward the design requirements of furnishing artworks under modern life style and the integration point between artistic and aesthetic value and furnishing artwork design.The third part is a case study on the author's works to analyze the specific methods to apply and change gold and silver plating in the design of modern furnishing artworks.The paper links the artistic and aesthetic value of gold and silver plating with the design of modern furnishing artworks to explore the inheritance and application of traditional crafts in the modern way of life.
