The concept of "gas" has been put forward in the pre Qin period,and its development has experienced 3 peaks which are pre Qin,Hart and Tang dynasties and Song Ming.In Northern Song Dynasty,Zhang Zai established the "gas" as the core of the ideological system.He put forward the "Void Gas" point of view and the view has two parts which are the "void" and "gasification" that explain the constitution of the universe.The world is "gas" and we call it the "Qiology ".In this context,as one of the representatives of Qiology,Wang Tingxiang was influenced by Zhang Zai's philosophy and criticized Cheng Zhu's view.He said: "the Yuanqi is all of the things and everything is Yuanqi of the birth." In other words,Qi is both the noumenon of the universe and the material of all things.Wang Tingxiang's works later were collected into Wang family collection;his philosophy is mainly concentrated in the discretion in speech,jashub,a set of what Bozhai creation theory,debate of Tai Chi,debate of five elements and other works.In the Dao body chapter,he led the "Tai Chi","emptiness" and "Tao","Yin and Yang" and "five elements" such as nouns,and then introduced the system of concept of "ontology".In the Dao body chapter,Wang Tingxiang said: "The gas is the foundation of nature." From the point of view that "Yuanqi" is "everything fundamental",he said that "Tai Chi" is not Zhu Xi's " Extremely reasonable ",but " gas extremely ".And "Void" is not Zhu Xi's story from the air and kept the "pure open bottom physical world",but the virtual material that empty is the gas,not from the virtual gas,exists in the form of gas from the virtual material that absence of air leads to Qi deficiency.Being and nought is not a set of categories used to distinguish the finiteness of phenomena and the infinity of the noumenon,but a group of categories used to show that things have developed from nothing to nothing,from,without,reciprocating,and moving;"Science" is not absolute spirit which behind this gas,but the Objective regularity of the gas itself.Utensil is not in the "Science" under the control of the second position in the "down",but are specific forms of material entity("gas")."Yin and Yang" is not spirit of absolute body load which Zhu Xi's said,(Science ride in Yin and Yang,such as people ride horse)but inherent power from material world that itself so "exchanges" "flex" endless movement.In a word,"Tai Chi" "void" "Being and nought and " Science " " Yin and Yang " and other areas are a moralist who used to generalize the ontology of the spirit of " the best of all good moral character in the past,but now a materialist that Wang Tingxiang used to describe "from the aspects of the best of all good table de gasification " diversity ".It is a favorable weapon to develop monism of gas and oppose idealism ontology.But Wang Tingxiang's materialism is based on the fact that " things are both empty and real ",and the entities that pass through the top and bottom are " Qi ",not " Science ".This is the monism of Qi developed thoroughly by Wang Tingxiang.It is the further development and embodiment of Zhang Zai's view of " knowing emptiness,namely " Qi is nothing ".Wang Tingxiang "ontology" is affected largely by thought of Zhang Zai's "void is gas",but he is beyond Zhang Zai that unified the "gas" and "gasification".He said in the Dao body chapter whether it is "yuanqi"(muddy person)or "living gas"(students living)is the way of the body,the invisible "strength" is the fundamental physical manifestation of Tao is "living gas".Here are two aspects of the moral,one is uniting the "vitality" and "living gas",they are both "Tao",and then uniting "gas" and "gasification";second,uniting the "Tao" and "Qi".It is a relationship between the use of body,that is,gas as the body,the "Tao" as the use.The former is a breakthrough of the theory of Zhang Zai,and the latter is a critical of Zhu Xi Road gas thinking.Therefore,Wang Tingxiang thought that "the Confucianism of the world is not known,but he does not know that Qi is all the way." On the one hand,he affirmed Zhu Xi's theory of gasification,but on the other hand,he denied Zhu Xi's theory of reason.In the contradiction between the unity of the gas and the diversity of the world,Wang Tingxiang put forward the theory of Qi,that is,that the reason why Qi can create all things is because the seed in the gas has a priori.In order to unify the "Qi" and "gasification" and ensure the basic and identical nature in the process of gasification,Wang Tingxiang put forward the definition of "Qi type".In a word,as a philosopher,Wang Tingxiang in the Ming Dynasty when it from prosperity to decline gradually and neo-Confucianism still just in the orthodox position,as soon as Yangming occasion.He inherited Zhang Zai Qi ontology,that the universe is primitive vitality and vitality on nothing without unreasonable ",and made development of materialism in the process of criticizing Cheng Zhu's Neo Confucianism.So he became a one of materialist philosophers who are unique and brilliant in the history of Chinese philosophy.Wang Tingxiang have put forward new ideas of their own in the ontology,epistemology who is on behalf of the highest level,even beyond Wang Yangming,and he is the greatest philosopher in the Ming Dynasty,is a prominent materialists.
