The Ontology Of The Dulcimer Solo "The Lane"

Shu Xiang was a dulcimer solo composed in 2013.It roots in traditional Chinese music but with a novel form and employs the rhythm of Sichuan dialect and the unordered rhyme to express the homesickness of the composer.Following the musical structure of Shu Xiang,this thesis would analyze the three parts of it.First,the background would be introduced.Later,the musical structure,which is the focus of this thesis,would be analyzed.Last,the musical texture features and the effect of expression of emotion would be analyzed based on the overall musical structure.Based on the musical structure,performing techniques,and artistic expression as well as the exhaustive analysis of the music score,the artistic style would be elaborated.
