This is a thesis on the translation of the 32 nd and 33 rd chapters of The Handbook of Discourse Analysis written by Deborah Schiffrin,Deborah Tannenl and Heidi E.Hamilton.In Chapter 32,Child Discourse Analysis begins with a review of the findings of a decade of child discourse, and analyzes the discourse between children and adults,as well as their peers. In Chapter 33,Discourse and Aging discusses the discourse competence of the elderly and the discourse characteristics of the elderly.Typical examples in this report are selected for analysis from two perspectives: the information focus and annotation method. This method can solve the problems existing in such papers including the undefined focus of information and many terms. The author gives corresponding solutions including lexical focus, syntactic focus and footnote addition.By deeply analyzing the original text, this report aims to offer some practical strategies and methods to the latter translation of the text of this type. |
