Since reform and opening-up,China has entered the new period,and then Shanghai,the cosmopolis,has also changed into the brand new environment.With the development of the economy,Shanghai has turned planned economy into market economy.Simultaneously,the foreign merchandises and western cultural conception has been into Shanghai,which means Shanghai has attracted the world again in this period,so that the combination between China and western culture emerged in Shanghai as well.This cultural phenomenon has the different effects on the outsiders and local people in Shanghai,which made them regard the city in diverse ways.Shanghai city culture affected the modern society.On the other hand,the modern society transformed the character of Shanghai.The influence is not only in adult films,but also in children's films and televisions with a new look.In this paper,the Chinese new period is the research background.Shanghai city culture is a starting point for the research,by analyzing the children's films and televisions,exploring the undermeanings of them affected by the Shanghai city culture and the influence to the city culture.Through the live-action children's films and televisions,this paper analyzes and compares the double vision of ‘watching' and ‘being watched' provided with the outsiders and local residents influenced by the character of Shanghai,as well to analyze the inner and outer character of Shanghai to observe this city.Meanwhile,the animation from Shanghai Animation Film Studio in the new period is an another starting point for the research,by explaining the magic realism in the animation narrative pattern given by the Shanghai culture and the reason of deep impression for the audience after watching these animation.Finally,based on this circumstance,the paper makes a reflection of the phenomenon that the backgrounds in most of recent films made by the young directors are in the 90 s of 20 century coincidentally.
