The literary discussion of the painting has always been cliche,so is it still necessary to talk about the literature for the painting today?For a long time,in discussing a part of the painting,we can never bypass the analysis of its literary sense,but each evolution of the painting,whether in the subject matter or formal language,is intense and irreversible.When it comes to the literary sense of painting,many controversies still remain.For example,what is the value of discussing it today?What is the significance of it in today's painting?What is the relationship between literature and the painter's creation?All these questions will be discussed in this essay.This paper first explores the literary value of today's painting in the category of western painting by comparing the literary sense with the painting sense of painting.Through examples with modern art as paradigm,the relationship between the literature and the painting in the past one hundred years will be explained.Based on the author's own learning experience and knowledge,the concept of literature will be extended in today's context through discussions on presenting literature differently in contemporary works.Besides,the author's own experiences in creation will be exemplified to analyze the value of literary sense in creation from the perspective of painting creation,to view literary sense from different angles and to deal it appropriately with the works.By discussing the aspects above,this paper will conclude that the view of literature shouldn't be generalized and diminished.Neither the assertion of the simple and complete elimination of literary sense in painting nor that the coercive call for the return to the literature is incorrect.As the creator,it is necessary to remove the "boring" literature,not all of it.Literary sense is still significant in creation,but it should meet the needs of the contemporary world,so that it can be coherently combined with the creation to make the work shine.
