This paper demonstrates that Xiao Qian's liberalism is rootless from the form and content of his political essays, so as to enrich the interpretation of Xiao's thought and change in the late 1940s.Then,I reconsider the existing construction approaches of liberalism literature with the key point of Xiao' s essays in 1940s.The first part,I prove that Xiao's liberalism is empirical and ruptured from the choice of style, narrative perspective and the way of fabrication. The second part,I try to summarize a cognitive / practice model of Xiao by the close reading of his early texts and memoirs. Then,I reconsider the transition from liberalism to socialism of Xiao in the late 1940s. Finally,I find out Xiao's four elements of his thought: underlying authoritarianism, irrational empiricism, fatalism and nihilism. The third part, I will reconsider and restructure the construction approaches of liberalism literature with the key point of Xiao's political essays in the late 1940s.I believes that if we understand the focus of "liberalism literature" on "literature" or"liberalism", we will point to the opposite form of literature. The former leads to a genre of literature or a claim of right. But both methods often lead to the misunderstanding of liberalism and the essence of literature. Thus it can be seen that:the two methods are invalid and unreasonable. In the end,I put forward the"liberalism literature" as an ideology. This form of literature and Left-wing literature are confrontational in respect of the value position. My conclusion is based on the distinct ideological texts of Xiao, such as Comments From Hong Mao.
